A Taste of Yoga: Restorative Yoga

  • Highlands Market 3046 Bardstown Rd Louisville, KY 40205 (map)

Class Description: This restorative yoga class will use supported poses, breath awareness and simple meditation techniques to restore health and vitality to the body and mind. Restorative yoga assists the body's natural ability to cleanse, heal, rest, grow, and build immunities. The deep surrender cultivated through restorative yoga practice is incredibly useful for everybody, but especially for those who have chronic pain, difficulty sleeping, or those who recognize they need a break from the high speed nature of life. Blankets, bolsters and blocks provided; practitioners are invited to bring their own props. (60 minutes)

Instructor Bio: Carrie Irwin is a 500-hour experienced registered yoga instructor (500hr e-RYT). She received her training through the Asheville Yoga Center. Carrie teaches in Louisville-area studios (Bend&Zen, Hot Yoga Louisville, Yoga on Baxter, Blairwood, and Rainbow Blossom Saturday Community Class), at local companies, as well as offering private and small group lessons at Mbodi. She offers classes that touch upon multiple disciplines of yoga, with strong skills in Vinyasa, Hatha, Hot 26, Fusion Classes, Restorative, and Yin Yoga.
