A Reaffirmation of Our Values
Dear Rainbow Nation,
If you’re like me, you’ve been doing a lot of processing and thinking about what this election will mean for the future of our country. This campaign has brought up a lot of issues that has left many feeling stunned, disillusioned and more divided than ever. Regardless of where you fall on the political spectrum, I want you to know that you are not alone in feeling this way.
This election was ugly, and it stirred up a lot of complex issues relating to gender, race, religion, and ethnicity. On Wednesday, the “Thinker” statue on UofL’s campus was vandalized with hate speech.
There is a lot of uncertainty in the world that we live in right now, so I just want to take a moment to reaffirm the values we foster here in our Rainbow Family. You are welcome here. Regardless of your race, gender, religion, or sexual orientation, or any disability you may have you are one of us. Discrimination of any kind is not tolerated at Rainbow Blossom. We choose to operate with respect, acceptance, and compassion.
We will continue to fight for the environment, our food system, and the health of our community. If anyone needs to talk, I’m here for you. I want you to know that you are not alone, and that we are stronger together.
Thank you for everything you do to make Rainbow Blossom a wonderful and inclusive place to work. I’m honored to share space with each and every one of you, and I hope that Rainbow Blossom can be a grounding force in an otherwise crazy world.
In health and solidarity,
Summer Auerbach, Second Generation Owner
